Welcome to Lennard Ong's Notebook. Nowadays, you'll find thoughts on ML/DS⚡️ applied to practical everyday problems.

Previously, I engineered Building Information Systems🏗️ for the real-estate industry. In spare moments, you'll find me tinkering with hardware or generative art.

Look around and explore. If you're not sure if you should email me... then you probably should - I'm usually up for a chat

Hi, I'm Lennard Ong.

I began my professional journey as a computational engineer / designer in the field of Architecture. I've built planning algorithms for urban design (Cologne, Germany) and have engineered information systems for complex, large-scale building projects (e.g. Singapore's Changi Terminal 4).

I am also the technical founder of a BIM and Information Management Consultancy, which I spent five years scaling up.

This was a period filled with rich experiences.

In that journey, I led growth by translating technological innovations from academia into practical industry services. Organisations we worked with include Gamuda, Pakuwon and Marriott.

I also developed & executed our regional go-to-market strategy (Singapore, Jakarta, Surabaya, KL, Manila) and grew a technical team of 18 engineers, all of whom hold a fond place in my memory (^5!).

During this time, I developed a fascination with developments in machine learning. I ultimately decided to leave Architecture in pursuit of faster moving industries with more emphasis on data.

My experience in engineering, scaling up and management lends itself well to my new pursuits.

I am currently a Growth Lead at Moleskine Digital Studio, where I apply growth principles and data science to drive revenue. I manage a portfolio of experiments and make cases for product strategy. Being at the the intersection of hands-on engineering and problem solving is my happy space.

I have a Bachelor of Architecture from SCI_Arc (LA) and a Masters of Computer Science from NUS (SG).

This website is my digital notebook. If this is your first visit, welcome! Feel free to explore / reach out. I love meeting like-minded people and generally reply to most mails.
